Course Description
- Spanish III Honors will continue to build on the four basic communication skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening in the target language.
- The class will also cover a broad range of cultural topics about the Spanish-speaking world.
- The class will be conducted in Spanish and students will be expected to participate in all activities.
- Students taking this course are assumed to be advancing toward taking AP Spanish Language and Culture
- Students must respect everybody and all school property.
- Students are expected to be prepared and bring classroom materials daily.
- Students should participate and speak as much Spanish as possible, TRY and DO their BEST!
- Cell phones are only permitted in class for academic/research purposes.
- Students must learn that every choice they make will have a consequence. Consequences for negative choices are:

(4) Office Referral
Class assignments
- Almost all assignments are completed in class, otherwise they will be homework.
- Save all assignments after they are graded and returned, in case there is a question concerning your grade.
- One test will be given at the end of each unit. (8 units per school year) and one final test will be given at the end of each semester (2 semesters per school year).
- Students receive EIGHT bathroom passes per semester. If passes are not used, they will turn into extra credit for the Semester Final Test.
- Any quiz could be retaken by students in order to improve their grade.

- Oral participation 20%
- Quizzes 25%
- Assignments 15%

Attendance and Tardiness
- Attendance is extremely important for learning a new language. Therefore students are encouraged to be in class every day.
- When emergencies occur and students have excused absences, it is their responsibility to meet with the teacher and make up what has been missed as soon as possible.
- Regarding tardiness student will be marked tardy if they are not in their seats at the very beginning of the class. After 4 tardy arrivals, students will get an office referral.
EXTRA HELP
If a student would like extra help, I am available at the following times
- After school tutoring on Tuesdays from 3:45 to 4:30 p.m. in the classroom.
- During lunch time, on Mondays and Thursdays in the classroom.
